Pain...
Agony....
My hatred burns through the cavernous deeps. The world heaves with my torment. Its wretched kingdoms quake beneath my rage...
But at last...
The whole of Azeroth will break...

Thoughts and dreams would be all that you're likely to get here. We can discuss and debate until the cows come home, but no decision we make on this board will mean diddly-doo.

In keeping with the reality that dreams-- and maybe nightmares-- are all that can be offered here--- How about contraceptives in the water supply? War and famine have worked to some degree in the past, it's one reason there's not a whole lot more of us than there are, so maybe you can have some of your friends do an anti-rain dance so it won't rain. No rain, no crops, no food--- famine kills a bunch of people-- population problem solved.

Sometimes education actually helps create population growth for a while in developing countries for a while. Education improves and so health care improves. Meanwhile breeding habits remain the same, but the survival rates improve. Now specific education can help, such as about contraceptives, but that sometimes encounters cultural/religious resistance. Delaying child birth helps a lot, but it's hard breaking age-old habits of marrying off at 15 or 16.

Some Churches highly disagree of using contraceptives.... And most specially in legalizing abortion.. This least people are lack of education... And their thinking is very different of those mindful people who wants changed, a better way of living as well...

Yes, but at some point education brings the overall awareness that overpopulation and children that can't be properly cared for is causing damage and is not worth it. People generally have more children than can be sustained because they don't know any better. If everyone had as many children as their socioeconomic status logically suggested, the population would actually begin to drop. IMO, it really is the only long term solution. Short of total extinction, no amount of wars, famines or diseases are going to once and for all end the propensity for humans to multiply despite consequences.

Because it's one thing to "be fruitful and multiply" when anyone can find a field and plant it, and quite another when the fields are all taken wink

Some issues with regards to overflowing population specifically to the under develop country because of unequality, bad governance and the least people stuck because they don't have power to voice out, to exercise freedom, to make up things better for development as well as their education, It remains unsolved because if we look at the statistics rich people plays a lot can explore in the world in anywhere and what they want.. Least people can't even have knowledge to make up over maybe because of their poor mind thinking... It is merely rapid and cancerous deases of truth that rich can only have the power and the poor becomes poorer..its widen now.. sad

So far I think only Virusboy has given a solution, so including his, I suggest:

o A war to end all wars (until we have too many people again)
o A Plague to do something similar
o Persuade men and women to become Nuns & Monks respectively, following the chastity supposedly espoused by RCs and Buddhists
o Persuade the rest of the men to become eunuchs (penalty for non compliance - castration)
o Gag the Pope so he stops prattling about people having lots of kids
o Ignore famines
o Let each country sort out its own population problems
o Make food exports illegal
o Open the flood gates, ban weather forecasts
o Double income tax for each child conceived
o Restrict medical care to one child per family

Take your pick of any or all and feel free to add some.

I'm sure there are more, but the overall conclusion is that any solution is going to hurt.

Edit: As far as education is concerned, that's no solution to the problem except that it might be humane to stop educating people so that they don't realise what is going to happen to them.

Aren't they already putting uranium in water supplies to sterilize the male population? I've actually heard the suggestion to put lithium in the water outside of conspiracy theories tho. :-\ "The new fluoride", lol. Adding a drug to the water supply is a very inaccurate way to dose the population. It'd work better inside a 'vaccine' and with a simple new flu virus scare you'd have them lining up to get injections.

Those countries where they breed like proverbial rabbits don't need an education to see the obvious. If you keep having babies on a strip of land and keep sub-dividing it you will eventually get zilch and then depend on other countries to feed you and still follow that nonsense. Seems a ludicrous position to me. Those that take the message go forth and multiply are being far too daftly literal. It would hardly mean standing room only please would it?

Every time I read of a ferry capsizing, and hearing that way too many people died on that ferry--- way more than the ferry could safely hold-- I wonder. I see photos of trains and buses with people hanging onto every available item, again way overloaded-- and I wonder. I think third-world transportation might be as effective a way as any to limit world population. Overcrowded ferries, trains and buses--- tragedies waiting to happen.

Do you think you can take over the universe and improve it?
I do not believe it can be done.

The universe is sacred.
You cannot improve it.
If you try to change it, you will ruin it.
If you try to hold it, you will lose it.

So sometimes things are ahead and sometimes they are behind;
Sometimes breathing is hard, sometimes it comes easily;
Sometimes there is strength and sometimes weakness;
Sometimes one is up and sometimes down.

Therefore the sage avoids extremes, excesses, and complacency.

Can't improve it? Why are you using your computer to post this then? You don't consider information at your fingertips a improvement? And again, why post? What are you trying to change?

I guess pointing out the obvious makes the rest seem obvious too?

Why pay your house note? You're only trying to hold on to something.
Why flip a light switch? You're trying to control or improve what you can see.
Why post your ideals at all? Shouldn't this information be sought, not offered? There you are trying to change stuff.

The universe is change and your part in it is to change it. When you eat you change it. If you eat healthy to feel better, you're controlling it. If you don't eat to avoid changing it, you're being extreme.

A redundant loop of fallacies come from any points you try to make.

One should take control of what is within one's own domain — that is one should control the mind to restrain desire and anger. As soon as Man tries to control others, conflict ensues. Lead by setting a good example and others will follow you. That way your immediate environment is improved. If everyone takes responsibility for their own actions, society will change, and the world will improve.

Don't be ridiculous. There is no need to lurch into emotive conclusions. The sad fact is that the human population is too big to sustain the sort of life we would all like to have given the amount of resources on this planet. If Human beings cannot control their population themselves then it will be done, perforce by running out of food, space, air - take your pick for whatever doomsday scenario you think most likely.

The problem is solvable and, clearly the solution will impinge on behaviour patterns we have enjoyed in the past. We will have to redefine the term "acceptable restrictions".

I should add something to what I wrote above because it may give the wrong impression. I stated that the problem (over population) is "solvable". While I think that is a true statement, I have no great faith that it will be solved. As mentioned before, the solutions are unpleasant to some degree and I doubt the capability of mankind to accept let alone agree a solution rather than continued fruitless hand-wringing and/or blinkered denial, implicitly accepting the consequences of over-population.

I gave a list a few posts ago; number 7 on that list is interesting - paraphrased it means every country does as they want and lives or dies with the consequences. It may come to that in the end.

more ridiculous is the world's problems associated with the number of inhabitants. In my country many people are starving or malnourished and this has nothing to do with the number of inhabitants. People are in this situation due to lack of money to buy food, not for lack of food or space.
The solution is to end the system of consumerism, it is the cause of these problems allegedly caused by the number of people on the planet.

nature itself is responsible for regulating the number of people keeping balance between the number of births and deaths. In many countries life expectancy is very short.
Some idiot invented this idiocy to associate the number of inhabitants of the planet with the problems caused by the system and many people are believing this idiocy.

Thats because the core problem isn't being addressed, the more poorer a nation is, the more likely the inhabitants are going to breed out of desperation, hence higher birth rates than death rates.

Hence this question: Do you often see rich families have lots of children?

The most likely answer is No, because they don't need to.

Its more of a case that they can't afford to have small families, you can see the interesting parallel with our own country if you look hard enough, our "chav" culture is a problem caused by our government financially punishing people who are together and rewarding them when they are apart.

I'm not entirely sure of the system of governing in Africa, but I wouldn't put it past them to have a similar system there...

Now I have noticed that more life is occurring than when Death collects. Which means 1 of 3 thing will or is occurring.

1: Death has been told of a huge and cataclysmic event and kicking back else where.
2: Death is collecting more else where. Since existence is more than Earth.
3: Death is preoccupied else where, that our world can only be visited for mundane visits.

Would you marry another man if you were allowed to?

the decision to marry another man or another boy if allowed, can be equally uneasy decision as choosing to marry one out of a list of beautiful girl friends, deciding to became a prostitute or not and marring a female or your fellow male - that is if you are a male.

But if i were a gay, with a sole intention of not wishing not to have children, i can not wait to marry my fellow make if allowed.

Are you trolling on this? I agree that you should be allowed to marry a member of the same sex, if that's your inclination. But as form of population control, it's too silly for serious comment. No amount of encouragement would cause this either. Even among the the most open-minded heterosexuals the prospect of going through life having sex with a same-sex partner would be too revolting. Of course, common sense tells us that nearly all prostitutes join that profession out of desperation (and may need help with out issues, such if they became prostitutes to support a drug habit, etc)

Thank you all for your comments.. Anyway, everybody are account to their own thought and ideas. There is positive and negative but all are looking for a changed.. Marrying the same sex isn't bad rather but in some of church against of that.. Even in some country.. In some point if that would be legalized we can't say or see any problems arise but maybe it only applies in the most developing countries.. In my point of view the ramphant here is that uneducated and uncivilized poeple has tha main problem how they can improve the life system... Maybe it is the most advantage to the more liberal countries because they look the world difference.. While the least is that even the thinking isn't advance... Very great difference.... We can see the unfair life the world has... While only a few experiencing very great life and most are starving....

Too damn simple. I just came a cross a reference to the fact that the hordes of immigrants descending on us get better benefits than our senior citizens with their pensions (some 2 million in the Labour government's enter here, encouragement term). Everyone 60 and over gets a one-off £200 payment for winter fuel allowance but the immigrants get £25 every week! Then there is housing allowance, benefits for the children - squads of them. free bus passes that everyone working pays for (although 60 and over in Scotland you can travel anywhere by bus or inter-city bus free. It gets you a discount on train fares with up to 10 miles for 80p single and £1.20 return). But they have contributed to the country. The scrounging, smiling incomers also get free of Council Tax. Time after time many are getting a housing alowance to let them live in areas others couldn't afford to live in. I find it galling that the aged get such a raw deal having been born and lived here all their lives and many fought for their country and people who have done nothing get money shoved at them when some of the old are finding it difficult. Small wonder the French haughtily said regarding those trying to smuggle out of France here that we are too generous.

Now we are seeing a baby boom. Over half of the children at the second biggest city, Birmingham are non-indigenous. We spend 8 figures on translation work alone in GB. There is pressures on schools (they breed more than us), give schools headaches over language issues, create ghettoes (but we are still told it's multiculturism), pressures on housing, utilties and now England is having water supply challenges. We are lucky up here in that one! A million new homes need in the southeast of England in the next couple of decades and the population mushrooming. Talk about a nation committing sucicide? I would give a handsome donation for the distribution of condies but they would probably use them for balloons.

I never could figure RJ's hatred for Edinburgh. I drive by it every so often, looks like it's not a bad place to live. (Edinburgh, Indiana, that is.)

Edinburgh in Scotland doesn't look too awful either, at least what we see of it here. Like all cities that have been there ever since the invention of dust, it has good and bad.

'Edinburgh in Scotland' is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. I used to tell people just how beautiful it was before I realised that describing it as such was a bit of a cliché, as everyone says the same thing. You'd have to have the aesthetic sense of Helen Keller to not appreciate it. I'm not so sure of the rest of the country. Roll on devolution! I say.

P.S. I don't remember any dust. Are you on any strong medication?

You do use some words overly strong here Chicagoan and misuse them. Hate? Since whenever, there has always been rivalry between Glasgow and Edinburgh. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
