happy hospital on facebook

hello,

i am using opera for some days now.

one problem occured that i can't solve.

i quite often play happyhospital on facebook.
but when i try to send gifts to friends, my friendlist is empty (by the way: it takes a long time til the page loads).

can anybody tell me the reason for this behaviour?
wooga (the company that runs the game) wrote me, i should use another browser...

chrome is behaving without problems.

thanks in advance
daba

facebook apps and games quite often use unsecured servers.
so you are switching from https to http and Opera doesn't like it.
This may be the cause of your problem.
Opera is a safe secure browser and is designed this way.
Facebook apps and games are developed by all sorts of people and some are not secure.

well,
first of all thank you very much for the answer.

but
i have to reply the same way as i did towards the support of wooga.
for me as the customer it's not satisfactory to get an answer like: thats not our problem, the problem is on the other side.

if opera wants to be used by a big amount of users, it has to work with worldwide popular pages like facebook.
if you want opera to be used by an elite group that claims, our browser doesn't need to work with certain webpages that are not fullfilling our standards, i'm off , unfortunately.
because i really like your startpage where you can configure you popular pages and parallel search the web.
and i don't find it comfortable to use more than one browser.

here you can see a hardcopy of the problem i'm trying to describe.

one more thing. the webpage adress is only with http.

thanks for your time.

I understand where you're coming from, daba.

However, I would personally much rather have a securely designed browser that won't allow its own users to accidentally harm themselves by visiting sites that uses insecure protocols to send and receive sensitive data.

If you believe it is absolutely necessary for you to play a Facebook game that has potential security issues, then by all means, use another browser. I personally would take this as a hint to *not* play that game and find a game that uses secure protocols to transport personal information.

Cheers, and best of luck!

thanks for your answer.

did you check the relevant site?
are you really sure that the origin for this problem is an insecure server?
do you know that the game i play has potential security issues?

could it be, that the reason for this "browser behavior" is something completely different (speaking with monty python)?

some days ago, i realized, that the icon bar my website "gmx.net" is providing is not active with opera. i received a message, that i'm using an old browser and should download a new one.
after searching the web for a solution to this problem, i found a hint, to mask opera as firefox (why does a browser need such an option if it's able to work with all pages properly?).
after hiding opera as firefox it really worked.
but only for two days.
yesterday i realized that i'm not able to display any mail on my screen. i see all my mails in the table, but when i click one, i don't see the mail, but the welcome page of gmx with the message that i have been logged out due to three hours of inactivity (though i logged in a minute ago).
why?

to make this clear, i don't write this, to claim that opera is a bad browser but to give a feedback that maybe could help somebody.
do people from opera read this posts?

thanks
