e-reader, e-ink screen support
The first e-readers that run on Android have been released. (For example the Sony Reader (Wifi) PRS-T1)The new labs build (for Android) adds support for the CSS3 paged property: http://labs.opera.com/news/2011/10/19/
E-ink screens are nice to read from and offer massive battery-live.
But they are monochrome and content changes requires a screen refresh, resulting in flickering.
My wish
E-ink/e-reader support/setting, in the Opera (Mobile/Mini) browser.
Browser:
- Disabling animations
- No progressive loading (don't show the page before the visible area has been fully loaded)
(- epub reading support?)
Opera Turbo:
- Monochrome picture compressing -> smaller images
