Slow network warning

Since installing the latest version I keep getting spurious 'You appear to be using a slow network' alerts.

They are annoying and distracting but I can't find anywhere to turn the feature off.

Any ideas?

LOL, is that real or did you Photoshop it? bigsmile

It's not under tools | preferences, quick preferences, advanced or appearance.

There's no mention of 'Preference Editor' under Edit.

Entering 'Preference Editor' into Opera Help brings up nothing useful.

Still, it's good to know that the coders who work on Opera managed to pass their 'Obfuscational Coding' courses with flying colours.

Huh, do you know what he linked to? He linked to your browser's OWN preference window! It's not a picture, just change that setting, press save, and you're done!

Wow... some people can't even tie their own shoe laces these days, this is pathetic!

You can also click on turbo's icon, open "configure opera turbo" and uncheck "notify me about network speed".

What's really pathetic is people like you who cannot be helpful without massaging their sad little egos by being unnecessarily rude to others.

I often wonder why what is, I believe, the best browser available, barely figures in the popularity stakes.

Every time I have the misfortune to need to ask a question here I remember, as I peruse the snarky comments directed at people who come here for assistance.

I simply wanted to know where to find (and how to get to) the relevant place to turn this feature off. After three replies I'm still none the wiser. Getting a screen to appear is a clever trick but not of much assistance when I want to turn the feature off on someone else's machine.

That preference editor looks like a very useful feature but the fact that even after spending some time I can't find a way to access it indicates very sloppy UI design.

If anyone could answer the simple question: "How do you access the preference editor", I would be most grateful.

It's an advanced feature, they didn't include it in the menus. Just type opera:config in the address bar.
