opera 11.52 on ubuntu 11.10 witn unity stucks every 5 minutes for 10 seconds

every approx. 5 min opera freezes becomes grey for approximately 10 seconds
with no response to any actions
then it works fine again like nothing happens
meanwhile, system monitor shows normal activity

Anytime someone says "every five minutes" I ask if they have Opera's mail client configured - the default interval for polling for new messages is every 5 minutes. Obviously if you use another program for email - Tbird, whatever - then that doesn't apply, or if you've disabled automatic checking.
