Feedback: Error loading videos
I use the last Opera version on Windows 7 x64.I can't see the videos on some sites. For example, imdb.com, or switchcam.com. Opera isn't loading anything on the black window where it's supposed to be the video. All I can see is that black window. Please, help me, or fix the problem.
Thanks.

Hello Leo, first of all, thanks for the answer.
Look, I've updated to the last flash version, I always do. (from the adobe's web page, and with the installer for Opera, but I really don't know where is it saving the files, so I cannot check it out)
I use several extensions, included Opear Adblock, and I've tried disabling some of them, but nothing happens.
Yes, I can perfectly watch videos on youtube.
One thing more, I also test it with Opera Next (with no extensions enabled at all) and the videos from switchcam.com works well, but not from imdb.com.
I've tested all other browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome), and works well with any of them.
Do you think the problem could be the flash plugin? How can I see the real version installed? and how can I check if the files installed are correct for the version?
Oh, I cannot believe it! while I'm writing you this, I'm doing some other test in Opera Next and in Opera with imdb.com, and I discovered that SOME videos works and SOME other doesn't, I mean, the one that works on Opera Next, also works on Opera, and the same with the ones that doesn't work. This is driving me crazy!

Yes, of course, here you are:
NOT working: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2692481049/
http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2299660057/
http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2729509145/
Working: http://www.imdb.com/video/demo_reel/vi3664878105/
I'm testing some more....
EY, I don't understand, you know what? now it seems to be "almost" fixed. Look: if you just paste http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0892791/ in your address bar, and then you click Watch Trailer, a popup window is opened to show the video!!!!!
)
That's new!!
Before this, the video was played in a new page (and the plugin was not loading) as I told you before.
Anyway, in this case http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462041/ the popup window suddenly disappears at the very beginning
and with switchcam.com I've disabled the option "Enable content blocking" that is located on right-click, Edit site preferences, Content. With that option disabled I can now watch the videos.
Well, that's all I could try up to now.
It's not the normal way, but, I think I'd could live with that, at least for a short time until someone fix those bugs.

All of them worked here.

No happened here. I was able to watch the whole trailer.
Try a new clean install of Opera and see if the problem still happens. Run the installer, click on "options", change the install path to something like "opera-test" and choose "stand-alone installation" on "install for".
Then load Opera from that install folder and check if you still have the problems.

Hi Leo, following your advice, I've tried the new clean install and ...... all works fine! There's no any problem of those I had with the other Opera.
So, the problem must be the extensions, I think.
First, I'll try to disable them all, and if it doesn't work, I'll try to uninstalling them. (It would be great to isolate the extension having the problem, so I can uninstall only that, I will see....)
Well, thank you for your time and your help.
Best regards,
Ariel

Well, I give up! I don't know what else can I do.
I've installed a new clean version to use it permanently but it doesn't work the video on imdb.com
I don't mean I cannot watch the video now. I can watch it clicking on watch trailer and seeing it on the popup window.
But, I'd like to know WHY doesn't work the version 11.52 I have RE-installed in the same directory than before (after uninstalling completely the previous version, of course), if the version that I temporally installed, following your advice (in another path), worked fine.
I cannot send you images right here, but I'll try to explain it: I have running both Opera versions 11.52, one with the player running and the other with the player on black and with the buttons "Standard", "480p", "720 hd". Yes, you can see the buttons, but they are like if were just an image...you cannot click it !
ok, now, knowing the "WHY" it's just for fun I think, or just for curiosity...
Thanks for taking the time for reading.
Best regards.

I have the same problem, and sure AdBlock was the problem for the imdb pages you've linked earlier, but it doesn't help on some other pages, for example these:
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTAyODQ
http://www.hardocp.com/news/2011/12/14/trillionframepersecond_video
Both use embedded Youtube videos and both works fine in other browsers (tested in IE9 and Chrome).
I don't think this was a problem before 11.60.

Hmm, that's odd.
However, I've been digging some more and the embedded Youtube videos on this page works:
http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/poison-dart-runed-videos
After some more digging, I noticed the difference between the videos above and the ones I linked to earlier, is that the earlier ones are using iframes to embed the videos. Apparently, there is a longstanding bug in Opera concerning iframes:

Unfortunately, I don't have a login for Operas Bug Tracking System, so I can't check the status of this particular bug (CORE-36299).
