A fun forum for photographers
I recently joined the Cambridge in Colour Forum that is part of the excellent Cambridge in Colour site that has many excellent technical articles. One of the fun things they do are called Mini Competitions, very quick competitions where votes are tallied over a few days for a selection of ten photographs submitted by users. It's easy to submit a picture and there are some very good ones too, but it is also useful as a guide to what is the prevailing taste of a larger pool of photo enthusiasts than we have here. I've thrown a few in, including some I've featured here - it's fun to get idea of what others really like, these often being quite different from what I really judge as an interesting shot!10. Thanks for the tip Richard
I visit that site often but the forums and competitions I'm not familiar with. Going to find out soon
Although, no time to join

My pleasure, Sami. It's interesting to see what people judge as excellent photographs. I actually wonder how many would have voted for this photograph that just sold for $4.3m (£2.7m). Not too many, I would suggest.

I suppose the size matters

That is very true
And that makes popular things like social media and "reality TV" so interesting. The "general" opinion somehow always surprises.Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...." And then do it. - Duane Michals
