Exchange 2010 only supports IMAP over SSL, not TLS. Built-in email client cannot connect!

I love the built-in email client in Opera and have been using it in a (large) corporate
environment over the Outlook mail client for more than four years.

The company recently upgraded the mail backbone from Exchange 2007 to Exchange
2010 (yeah, I know, but corporations never upgrade early). Now there seems to be no
combination of IMAP settings that will allow my Opera 11.52 on Vista 32bit to connect
to the Exchange server.

I can connect using Thunderbird with these settings:
Port: "993", Connection security: "SSL/TLS" (not STARTTLS), Authentication: "Normal
password".

I realize that it is difficult to keep up with all possible mail servers out there, but surely
Microsofts Exchange is one of the most common?

Am I missing something here?
I'm thankful for any and all tips to this problem. I would really *hate* going back to
Outlook, or even Thunderbird (though Tbird is definitely better than Outlook).

In "Ctrl + F12 -> advanced -> security -> security protocols", make sure TLS 1.1 and 1.2 are unchecked. They're unchecked by default now. But, if you've been upgrading for a while and had messed with them at one point, maybe they're still checked (as in an upgrade wouldn't uncheck them if you had messed with them).

TLS 1.0, is basically SSL 3 and with port 993 and IMAP, it should just work. If it doesn't, you can try unchecking "TLS 1.0", okaying out and restarting Opera to see if it makes a difference.

Those TLS settings affect all of Opera though. There are no separate settings for just mail.

But, I would log the connection and look at the log to see what the log says.

Also, use the "standalone installation" option in the installer to install to a folder on your desktop. Then, setup the IMAP account in it just to see if it works or not.

Also, if you have anti-virus, turn off its email scanner and web scanner to see if it makes a difference (they interfere a lot with mail clients).
