Two windows vs. allow empty windows

Since i now switched to a dual monitor setup and i want to have opera windows on both screens, i ran into a little trouble with the allow empty windows option:

I can either not allow empty windows, which works fine while having only one window because it just opens speed dial when you close the last tab. But when having two windows, and closing the last tab on one of them, the whole window closes. Only on the last window, speed dial shows when closing the last tab. All other windows disappear instead.

Or i can allow empty windows, in which case having two windows and closing the last tab on one of them does not close the window - which is a lot better than the other option - but i get empty windows instead and always have to manually re-open a tab to see my speed dial.

Is there a way to get two opera windows, that behave just like two single windows, as in you can close the last tab on either window and the window will stay open AND auto-show speed dial?

Install two versions of Opera in separate folders. I haven't tried installing Opera 11.52 twice, but I guess that should be possible if you use the USB install option. At least you can install Opera 11.60 beta or Opera 12.00 Next and install that, then run two version of Opera simultaneously.

Download Betas.

Another way is to pin the speed dial tab so that you cannot close it.

Or just two separate install folders (the actual folder name must be different). But with separate installs, the two windows will not communicate, so you will not be able to move a tab from one window to another. You could create custom buttons to allow you to open links in the other install, but they are running separately.
