How Do I Save Copies of E-Mails?
Hi!Of course I can use crtl+a > ctrl+v to copy the body (text and links) of emails in WordPad > Documents. But is there a way to save the emails in their original state in Documents, so that the sender's address also appears, and they look like they do in Opera mail?
I'm using the free Opera mail version.
You can view the mbs file in a text editor to see what's in it.
If you drag the .mbs file into Opera, it'll load in a tab and display the message body. If you want to fully read the mbs file with headers showing and all, you can goto 'Menu -> settings -> import and export -> import mail => import generic mbox" and import it into a new account (which will be a local-only account by default).
Now, one thing that is different between mbs files and eml files is that an mbs file can store multiple messages. In Opera, you can right-click on a view and choose "export". That will export all messages into a single mbs where. You can then import that into something.
You can make .eml files load in a tab like .mbs files if you goto "ctrl + f12 -> advanced -> downloads" and edit the application/mime type to add the .eml extension to its list. But, that's not something you should really do.

Come to think of it, I have in the years since I use Opera mail never really needed to save emails in such a way that they look exactly like the original, with emoticons etc. Only a few texts with some links, which as I said I can easily copy with ctrl+a > ctrl+v in WordPad. So far I have never felt the need to copy newsletters with their pictures etc.
It's just that -if my memory serves me well- some years back with Windows xp and Outlook Express I was able to just copy the emails and newsletters with one click -or two- into Documents looking exactly as the originals. So I was wondering if I could also do that with Opera mail.
From your explanation I suppose it can be done, but not having enough pc knowledge I don't understand a word of what you write.
Never mind, as I said above it's not really important to me at all, so I don't really need to know. Again, sometimes I want to save an email text with some links, and I know how to do that.
BTW, I'm using the free version of Jarte; WordPad with spelling control. Very handy for those of us who don't need all the whistles and bells of more sophisticated word processors.
PS:
Come to think of it some more, I can always keep any email or newsletter in the Opera mail waste basked, and permanently delete the ones I don't want to keep with the "Read" button. I have done that so far until I didn't need the ones saved in the waste basked anymore. At this moment my waste basked is empty, showing how much I want to keep the original look of the ones I received...

You shouldn't use "All Messages/Trash" to save messages and to just get them out of the way. Instead, create a label and in its properties, set 'hide these messages from other views". Then, any messages you want to save, but also get out of the way, just apply that label.

No.
