How can I get my oldish version of Ubuntu to accept Opera? Ubuntu 10.I have downloaded it a few times but the problem of overwriting my hardwired Microsloppied brain is killing me.
Should I revert to the womb?

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 and installing Opera was a simple matter of going to the Software Centre (Applications > Ubuntu Software Centre) and clicking on Internet > Web Browsers and scrolling down to Opera, clicking on it and hitting 'Install'. By default it'll be the latest stable version.

So you just can't install? Download the deb package and double click on it. That should start software center so that you can begin the install.

Doesn't it still use GDebi in 10.04? Not that it changes anything about the double-clicking.
