Opera on Ubuntu

How can I get my oldish version of Ubuntu to accept Opera? Ubuntu 10.
I have downloaded it a few times but the problem of overwriting my hardwired Microsloppied brain is killing me.

Should I revert to the womb?

I have no idea what your actual question is, nor why this is a poll. So I can't answer you or vote.

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 and installing Opera was a simple matter of going to the Software Centre (Applications > Ubuntu Software Centre) and clicking on Internet > Web Browsers and scrolling down to Opera, clicking on it and hitting 'Install'. By default it'll be the latest stable version.
I'm feeling much better now that all the other people in my head and I are working as a team! Well, at least until I ate some of them. Now the rest of us alternate between being not hungry anymore and being really worried, which is never good for the digestion! Burp. bigeyes

So you just can't install? Download the deb package and double click on it. That should start software center so that you can begin the install.

Doesn't it still use GDebi in 10.04? Not that it changes anything about the double-clicking.
