Flash videos' audio disappears (in Opera only) when I switch speaker/headphone plugs

Hello everyone!

I have no idea why, but as the topic states any of my flash videos get muted permanently (and newly opened ones too) when I switch the green plugs on my PC's back panel (sometimes I use my headphones for games or speakers for everything else).

I fix it by restarting Opera, then flash audio works again, but I'm not sure how much is it Opera's fault and restarting Opera with over 20 tabs is annoying :/

I don't remember changing anything in my audio options. Any ideas? Thank you.

Your default audio output stream changes and Opera does not go to another stream. Because it is already playing.

The old "default output stream" is not displayed by the sound card driver, because you told him to changed it.

Try it with any media player, and notice the same. Some will even stop working.

It depends on your sound card driver if a full restart of an application is required.

Thank you for explaining the problem but I tried all the different settings the Realtek HD Audio panel, I used to use the same onboard sound and not have this problem. Maybe the drivers are to blame but I only started noticing this in the last 2 weeks (and last driver update was from over 3 months ago).

Do you have Front panel audio plug? You should try those.

I may try the front panel but it's too far away from me so logistically it can't be used. Well let's wait and see.

Usually the rear side of a pc is the hardest place to reach. You should plug your headphones in there and keep the speakers at the back.
