There's a reason there is a sticky thread called How to post about problems with specific sites

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov is the first result to show when I looked for pubmed.
pubmed.com didn't appear in the first 8 pages I looked at, then I stopped looking.

You should have provided an active link to the site up front, then we know we're on the same page.
pubmed.com goes to pubmed.com
If that's the page that you mean, the next/prev first/last page links work fine if you enable javascript.

I already have JS enabled :S
If I enter the homepage http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?cmd=search
and make any query, after hitting the search button no results are shown and the homepage is just reloaded.
it works fine with Internet Explorer.

That works fine here.
I just typed appendicitis into the search field and I could either click on the list of suggestions provided and a page of results came up. Same if I just typed in appendicitis and clicked on the search button.
As you can see from the screenshot.

Could be but I can't think what as I've tried changing different settings and can't reproduce the problem you are facing.
Do you have any extensions in use perhaps? If so try disabling them.
Check the content blocker too just in case you have inadvertently blocked something on the page.
Right click on the page > Edit site preferences > Content > Deselect Enable content blocking then reload the page and try another search.

I've forgot to tell that I use Opera@USB 12.15 and I experience the same PubMed issue on different PCs even with a "virgin" version of Opera@USB without any customization nor extension.
so, would you please try downloading Opera@USB 12.15 from here and tell me if you experience the same problem?
http://www.opera-usb.com/operausbint.htm
anyway Opera 11.10 which works on PubMed was an @USB version as well

Just this once....
OK that works fine for me too. I'm stumped, no idea why it's not working for you.

I confirm that after hitting the serach button the query field erases and no results are displayed...
I've got EXACTLY the same problem. Quite annoying, as I used to search for papers on PubMed almost daily. Since Opera 12, I've been using Google Scholar as a replacement, but that one searches via an entirely different system, not always as useful.
Each time I enter a search query in PubMed and push enter, the field erases, the page reloads, and no results are displayed. If I start typing a query and click one of the suggestions from the list that appears, it does work. However, not all of the terms I'm looking for show up in that list...
I'm using Opera 12.15 in Windows 7 Pro 64bit, SP1. Disabling AdBlock and enabling site content doesn't help either.
If someone finds out how to solve this, it would be very very helpful. As PubMed is probably the most important website in many different kinds of biomedical research, I guess we're not the only ones struggling with this problem...
Type "TSLP" (or any other query) and push enter -> http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ just refreshes.
Type "TSLP" and actually click the 'search' button -> http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=tslp opens. Voila!
It is however quite annoying to actually have to click the button each time - I'm too lazy to move my arm, but the addition of an extra custom search engine solved that, now I just type the query in the address bar.

Still weird though, that this is a browser dependent thingy.

Both methods work fine here.

Surely that wouldn't make a difference though. Very strange.
