Replacement for native Opera Mini bookmarks
Due to problems with native bookmarks in Opera Mini (no reliable backup, bookmarks lost during version upgrades, page freeze-ups when the number of bookmarks is high, new bookmarks that won't save, etc), I'm looking for a workaround replacement for native OM bookmarks. Here is my temporary solution, it's a "work in progress" and any ideas from other users will be appreciated.1) Create a minimalist set of most important bookmarks in Opera Mini, sync them to Opera Link, hope for the best, but be ready to re-create them manually if things go wrong. In my case it's just 30 bookmarks.
2) If you have other bookmarks that you need, stored in a browser on the PC, then export them as HTML file, and then copy the file to microSD (media card) on your phone. You don't have to worry about bookmark limits, you can have thousands of bookmarks.
3) From the phone, open HTML file with an app that can handle the format. This is where things get a bit tricky. I use File Manager Pro to manipulate files, and OM must be opened before you try to open an HTML file.
Below are a few screenshots taken from File Manger Pro:

Using this method I managed to recover all bookmarks from Opera Link that just refused to get transferred to OM after recent version upgrade.
For creating bookmarks I'm using BlackBerry's MemoPad, because it's the only text editor app I have that can handle hyperlinks properly. MemoPad files are stored in device memory, so I will need to find some other editor that stores files on microSD. Maybe the latest version of File Manager Pro can do this, my version is two years old.
So in short, I'm not going to create any new bookmarks in Opera Mini (beyond the initial 30 mentioned before), all new bookmarks will be stored in MemoPad (in device memory) and will be backed up on PC together with all BlackBerry native apps (BB Desktop Manager backup). Here are a few screenshots from MemoPad:

I have tested my ideas presented above in real life, and while recovering bookmarks lost by Opera Link using HTML files placed on microSD card is relatively easy to do, using MemoPad for saving new bookmarks is quite inconvenient. Saving new bookmarks right inside the browser seems to be the only acceptable method.
In that case, the best course of action would probably be to just use the bookmarks regular way, and when one day, inevitably, they disappear, restore the initial "priority" 30 or so bookmarks to OM from a second dedicated Opera Link account, and then recover all remaining missing bookmarks using Opera on PC and HTML file.
