New Python Sphinx search not working with current Opera

Hi all,

I will also drop some words about the issue, to the Python Sphinx team.

Here is. If you don't already know, Sphinx is a documentation system, mainly used with Python applications, it provide generation of HTML documentations from sources files and so called reStructuredText. Among other cool features, it provide a search functionality, which even works while disconnected.

It seems the search functionality coming with new Sphinx releases, does not work anymore with Opera, while it still works with at least FireFox (will later test with Safari and IE8).

Test yourself. In the search box on the lest pan, type, as an example, “API”, which should return result with both.

* Documentation generated with old Sphinx 0.6.7: http://docs.python.org/ Search works with Opera and FireFox
* Documentation generated with new Sphinx 1.0.7: http://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy/reference/ Search does not work with Opera, and however works fine with FireFox.

I did not investigated, but I wonder if this is Opera's fault or Sphinx's fault.

For publication tool chain (for the web and else) : Semantic online editor, Lasidoré (XML based) - prerelease - requires at least Opera 9.5 to work nice

Google is not a synonym of Search engine : boys and girls, have a look at Exalead and WolframAlpha
