Rendering of @font-face css

I downloaded a font-family from Fontsquirrel, hacked the provided CSS to suit my own paths, and everything works fine in my website except for one thing. When a page is loaded the text appears for a second or so in the default typeface to be replaced by the webfont. This doesn't happen in Chrome or Firefox. I checked, and I am using the latest version of Opera.

Version
11.52

Build
1100

Platform
Linux

System
x86_64, 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.x86_64

The webpage in question is
http://www.olddeer.org.uk/

Any suggestions about how to put this right would be most welcome.

Thanks
