Widget functionality in extension?

1) Is it possible to create a window or tab to be on top of other?

2) Is it possible to create a widget like structures from extension?

3) Is it possible to transfer data from the extension into a widget and vice versa?

1) You mean always on top? Or inside a tab? Or something else?

2) What do you mean exactly by this?

3) Only using a webservice of some kind.
There's an official (but not really maintained anymore) xml store that allows you to store data to a my.opera link account:

Just trowing it out there: an Opera Unite service could be used as a server middleware to share data between an extension and widget.
