Crash log was analyzed. Doesn't look mail-related and just looks like some random crash. Did you also send the report in?

Just make sure that Opera is closed and delete its "cache", "opcache" and "temporary_download" folders. Might want to delete autosave.win and any other saved sessions you have in the "sessions" folder.

Not specific to Opera, but you might want to copy all files from the usb drive to the computer and then reformat the drive, just to make sure. Or, at least run a chkdsk /r on the drive.

You have to change "install path" to a folder where Opera is not installed or where an existing standalone installed is located.

Hi Burnout, I am now 2nd this:

New question, am fresh installing latest version of opera.
During install, Install for is "DIMMED" (below language)
How to make the "INSTALL FOR" clickable ?

I want to install to USB

I found that from About Opera some directory pointed to: C:/ instead of my Thumb drive H:/
You know it will make the Opera USb no use at all if some directory stick to C: some stick to H:/

Thank you !

It thinks you have an existing installation in the root of H: it seems. What if you type h:\foo. Does it work then?

Hi Burbout426,

--> http://files.myopera.com/emc/files/Opera%204.jpg

Plug-in path
H:\Foo\program\plugins
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\new_plugin

Would changing the 3 of the baove plugins from C:| to my USB drive (H:\) is better ?
I am carrying my Opera in the USB around & I do not want unepcted malfunction happen due to these 3 plugins stick to C;\ drive.

Thanks a lot.

Opera searches all the paths in opera:config#Plugin%20Path for plug-ins. It also searches for plug-in paths in the registry. And, it searches for plug-ins in the program/plugins directory in the Opera program files directory. And, it searches a few known paths.

With that knowledge, you can adjust the Plugin Path setting to how you want. But, that only allows you to control a little bit of what Opera detects. You can't control what Opera detects from the registry and such.

You can disable plug-ins in opera:plugins though and you can block plug-in files by name via defaults/plugin-ignore.ini in the Opera program files directory though.

You can also disable all plug-ins via "Ctrl + F12 -> advanced -> content".

With that said, even when you use a usb Opera, that Opera is expected to detect and use the plug-ins that are on the system it's running on at the time.

Now, you can sometimes install a plug-in on the usb drive and make sure the path to the folder it's in is first in the Plugin Path. But, this only works for simple plug-ins. For other plug-ins where registry settings are required for it to work properly, the plug-in has to be installed on each system.

It's pretty complicated.

But, disabling:

C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\new_plugin

in opera:plugins

and removing "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins" from the "Plugin Path" setting, should help and work across most windows systems. But, you'll have to check on each system to make sure and if something is enabled on that system, use opera:plugins to disable it.
