Link crashes Opera but not IE - why?

Received an email with the link: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-top-alternatives-to-microsoft-outlook/1147?tag=nl.e101

I'm running Windows 7 and Pegasus Mail. My email gives choice of clicking and opening links in Opera or Internet Explorer. The former gives the result:
OPERA-CRASHLOG V1 desktop 11.52 1100 windows
Opera.exe 1100 caused exception C0000005 at address 03DEF0D0 (Base: 1100000) etc.

The latter opens it perfectly no

Copying and pasting the link into the browsers gives the same results. When I remove '?tag=nl.e101' from the link and paste
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-top-alternatives-to-microsoft-outlook/1147 Opera and IE both open it perfectly.

Why?
Opera Version 11.64 Build 1403 Platform Win32
System Windows XP
Well that's what Help>About Opera says! But I know:
WINDOWS 7 Home Premium Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6200 @ 2.13GHz RAM 2

Loads okay with no crashing in my version of Opera (v11.52 b1100 running on WinXP Pro SP3). Is the problem in your setup repeated following a reboot of the OS?

Windows 7 Ultimate (64) primary
Windows 7 Ultimate (86) secondary
Intel Core 2 Q6600

Thanks for both comments. Yes, follows an OS reboot. It did it when I clicked on the link in the My Opera email notifying me of the above worried
