Opera changes file extensiopn from exe to exel

Opera 11.51, W7. When downloading exe files, *.exe extension is renamed to *.exel when Save as dialog opens.
And is saved as *.exel, if not fixed during Save as dialog.

Why and how to fix?

Go to Preferences > Advanced > Downloads, uncheck "Hide file types opened by Opera" and search for "exel" and/or "exe". Something with one or both of those associations is probably broken. I don't know how they are broken, so I don't know what you'll need to do to fix them though.
