Busy mouse cursor when loading pages

Regardless of distro and regardless of desktop environment (GNOME, KDE, Xfce), whenever a page is loading in Opera, the mouse changes to a busy cursor. This is annoying because not only does it seem pointless and redundant, but it makes it difficult to click on links, since some busy cursors don't have a distinct "point" or "arrow". What adds to the problem is when dynamic content is constantly loading on the page, the mouse cursor keeps alternating, back and forth and back and forth.

This issue has been around for a quite while on Linux builds, yet it still exists, even with 11.52.

I agree that it is annoying. But I think "Busy mouse cursor when loading pages" is a feature of opera. faint

Is there any way to disable this "feature"?

This issue occurs even when I am typing into a search box of a web page that uses search suggestions or some sort of javascript. I will see the progress meter fluctuate, and the mouse cursor will rapidly flicker from "busy" to "normal". Only on Linux, apparently.

With the release of Opera 11.61 and the latest Wahoo build (12.00-1213), this bug still exists. Can any developers reveal if this bug is being worked on or even acknowledged?

* only happens under Linux
* redundant
* more difficult to click links
* annoying and aesthetically unattractive
* also occurs when using some search fields, such as YouTube search

Since this was not fixed in final release of 12.00, are there any plans to fix this simple bug in 12.10, perhaps? I've submitted a bug report long ago. No clue what the status is. I can submit another bug report, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it's going to make at this point.
