I hope not. It is better to be 1st class web browser than average everything. Ok, we have mail client, somehow ok, it is getting better, ok. But seriosly I think, that including torrent & irc client is very questionable...

World trend is to do one thing at the best not all on average.

I haven't tested it yet but this extension claims itself to be a Jabber(XMPP) client for Opera.

would be better to improve the opera chat (irc) for a "jabber-like", serving for IM's like MSN, yahoo, ICQ, for example and IRC

that's not what this thread is about. We are talking about XMPP integration in Opera (as in: the program), not on myopera.com

It would be cool to have XMPP support added to the existing Opera chat panel. Of course then I would also want OTR (Off The Record) encryption support and then my life would almost be complete. wink

-1 What the hell? Next to soooo many messaging apps you want Opera to support that too? Having the chat thing is enough, bittorrent is somehow ok but needs to be improved...
If you're going to do it anyway, put it in the panels and make it look like eBuddy messanger for Symbian S60v5 (it probably looks the same on Android but I only tried Symbian so..)
Then again, there are a lot more important things to fix and make than the messanger...

Yep, there are. But when possible, fix the things there are in browser, that there are people using. Or would you think cool a software has a feature that you like but unfortunately this can't be used with full its potential because is full of errors/bugs?

+1, a new function for the IM protocols(like msn) would be good

I agree with the inclusion of a full featured XMPP client, but as every opera features, it should be activated on demand (keeping it fully unloaded if not activated)
