[1200 b1155] github doesn't render at all

Hi,
github (github.com) doesn't render at all. It's as if Opera refuses to load any style.

Here's what it looks like:

This is in IE8:

This has been broken for quite some time, can't remember since when though. Masking the browser identification or deleting cookies didn't help.

Any ideas? Broken style sheet or something?

It loads here fine for me, but I've had a couple times recently where sites didn't load with stylesheets until I refreshed, or sometimes had to restart the browser.

Another thought for the Opera security experts: Could Opera be refusing to use style sheets from other sites on an HTTPS page? I just checked, and my load of github's main page (which is automatically HTTPS) loads its styles from https://a248.e.akamai.net/.

Yeah it doesn't fully render as well here Windows XP Pro SP3, Pentium 4 Celeron 2.53 Ghz, and 1 Gig of RAM.

This is still valid today, on Opera 11.61 as I see the same thing happening on Github and Twitter. In case of Twitter, only when logged in. After logging out, the pages render fine according to the stylesheet(s) but immediately after logging in, the Twitter pages render similar to that first image by gibson... :'(

Trying to access one of the Github stylesheets, https://a248.e.akamai.net/assets.github.com/stylesheets/bundles/github-c2f83c57a14d5e54d816673f52563d987fe2821f.css for example, in Opera directly, results in a message "Cannot complete transaction" while when accessing the same resource via plain http instead, there is no problem.

Other browsers do not protest the https protocol in these cases.

Why is this happening? Some security setting in my Opera too tight?

Ah... found it. Apparently, I had a248.e.akamai.net listed under Opera > Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Security > Manage Certificates > Denied

Removing it, solved the issue smile

I've had the exactly same issue. Thanks for the solution, RavanH.

It would be nice if Opera could handle that better. Even the direct link to the CSS has vague or even misleading information.

I had akamai under the *approved* certificates, but tried deleting it anyway on a lark and it solved the problem. Weird!

I had the exact same problem with Twitter and GitHub. Thanks to this thread, I could solve it (I had a248.e.akamai.net listed under the denied certificates).
I think it happened because once I was receiving some invalid certificates from there and I chose to deny them. Actually I can't quite understand why those sites should load styles from there... I think it isn't the best approach from a security point of view... is it?
