Enable multiple speed dial pages (like Google Chrome's start page) instead
Instead of having a large speed dial that scrolls downwards as we increase the number of websites we add to it - Check out Chrome's new start page, they allow you as many pages as you want to place your favourite websites and addons. You can make yours better than theirs by allowing 2 or 3 speed dial pages. For example I could use one page for speed dial extensions, another for frequently used websites and yet another for infrequently used pages. Make each page customisable separately.Such a speed dial will work better on Netbooks on which the screen is smaller and for people who have too many speed dials.
I think this idea has the potential to replace or complement bookmarks completely.
1.We can simply add more and more pages to the speeddial as and when we book mark a page. The pages will be numbered 1,2,3 and so on and will show at the bottom like in google search (or the new google chrome start page)
2.Multiple pages means that we can name each speed dial page, this naming of pages would serve the same function vis-a-vis categorisation as the folders do on the bookmarks bar.
3.Keyboard shortcuts and more importantly mouse gestures could be used to change the speeddial page. Or simply taking the mouse to the right/left edge of the page will take you to the next adjacent speeddial page.
This would make the interface somewhat like a touchscreen phone on which we flip a finger to shift to the next page. So Opera would be geared for the future. Moreover, IMHO it would probably look better, sleeker, slinkier and faster than it already is.
What does the Opera dev team think of this?

It'd better not.
But I like the following idea.
1. Multipage Speed Dial -> Speed Dial Page (SDP, SDPs)
2. Every SDP may be set as default through all Opera windows, e.g. "start page" and "new tab view".
3. Every SDP has right (or any defined similar to Tab Bar Placement) __horizontal__ "SDP Tab" with name set by user or with thumbnail selected from the set visible on the page.
4. SDP Tabs are movable up and down to change their order plus default options for alphabetical order up and down.
5. SDP Tab Area has hide/show option.
6. I prefer address book layout with round binders similar to http://themetoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/address-book.jpg

wtf? you put porn on speed dial? ... use bookmark shortcuts, that's much faster and stealthy
anyhow, you can remove the search bar by opening the search preferences and unchecking the "use as speed dial search" in bing
