Why don't all the bookmarks in the base appear when I try to manage my bookmarks?

Running Opera 9.64 on Win98SE

When I try to reorganize my Bookmarks, I can't.

Originally, the Bookmarks were all in the base folder, some 70+ There were no subfolders created by me. Didn't know how, so everything was just well named to appear mnemonically.

Then, recently the gorup here told me how to create subfolders, rename, move etc, so now the Bookmarks are being formed into a proper structure - a true folder/subfolder setup. BUT !!! Every now and then when I click Manage Bookmarks, I cannot get access to ANY Bookmark residing in the base listing. I can't move, can't delete, can't do anythig with any item in that base listing. Yet, when I click of Bookmark to go somewhere, all those listed in the baseline are there and function perfectly, just can't get access to 'manage' them

What's am I doing wrong? How do I get them to appear while I'm trying to "Manage Bookmarks' so I can move some of them into the new folder locations?

Have you entered some text in the Quick Find field? Are they sorted by "My Order" or alphabetically? Which view are you using — full, split, or single folder?

During "Manage Bookmarks", I use split image with the left panel showing the folder structure and the right panel showing the contents of the 'highlighted' folder.

Historically, every now and then all the Bookmarks in the base folder would show, sometimes not. Very irksome when trying to manage the Bookmarks.

However, FOUND IT!

Inside the left panel in the broad blank area, I accidentally clicked and that makes the whole list magically appear in the right panel.

If I click on any specific folder the list disaapears, but the whole list comes up again by simply clicking on the WHITE BLANK AREA in the left panel.

Again, Opera, once set up, is incredible!
