Gmail IMAP suddenly lost many emails
Hi all,I am not sure why this morning I noticed the "INBOX" of my Gmail IMAP from within Opera seems lost lost of mails.
I used to have a rather long list in the mail panels, today, I only see 4 unread email in there.
Is there way I can rebuild & have them back ?
Thank you !
edmond.

Just to be sure, on the IMAP tab in the account's properties, make sure "disable local spam filter" is checked. Also, for extra good measure, right-click "All Messages/Spam", goto properties and make sure the internal filter is turned off and make sure "learn from labeled messages" is turned off (unless you use those things for other accounts).

You were right.
Al the things you mentioned above are upside down.
1. make sure "disable local spam filter" is checked. It was un-checked. Not I check it.
2. right-click "All Messages/Spam", goto properties and make sure the internal filter is turned off. It was turn on. I turn it off now.
3. make sure "learn from labeled messages" is turned off (unless you use those things for other accounts). It was turned on. I turn it off now.
Now that I found in All messages > Spam has messages I need them in INBOX.
How do I fix it so that they can be in the INBOX again ?
Thank you !
edmond.

Under the you@gmail.com access point, drag them from "[Gmail]/Spam" to "Inbox". Opera should do that when you "not spam" them in "All Messages/Spam", but I can't check atm to make sure, so drag to 'Inbox" and experiment with a single spam message later.
If you do mark a message as "not spam" and it doesn't goto "Inbox", you can go into "[Gmail]/All Mail" and ctrl + drag it to "Inbox" to add the "Inbox" label.
Strange thing happens, I highlight all the emails from the spam ( from All message > Spam )
Drag to the folder where my IMAP id is at --> xxx@myemail.com. , the INBOX.
First I saw the SPAM folder EMPTYS to "0" email in it. (use to show 80 unread)
Unfortunately, at the time folder xxx@gmail.com start increasing email. The Spam also add the mail ...showing 1, 2, 3, 4, emails adding in the SPAM folder.
Thanks
edmond.

Opera again mark some of my email as SPAM although I have done:
1. make sure "disable local spam filter" is checked.
I also noticed that it checks my IMAP folder each time with hundreds mail "FECTHING" where it supposed factched.
Thank you
edmond.

In Opera's mail folder, there's an autofilter folder. When the spam filter has learned stuff, there will be an ini file in there for what's learned. It should be deleted when you uncheck "learn from labeled messages". But, if for some reason it isn't, close down Opera and delete that ini file.
Also, in the "All Messages/Spam" properties, make sure there are no rules added.
Also note that when you mark one message as not spam, other related one might be marked as not spam too.
Sounds like you might have a sync issue.
Go to mail.google.com, select everything in Spam and not spam it. Then, restart Opera and let in sync messages etc. Then, check the database. If all else fails, delete the IMAP account in Opera and add it back in. Or, unsubscribe from "[Gmail]/Spam and then resubscribe. Then, go into the account's properties on the IMAP tab and make sure it's still set as the spam folder.
Do you have a slow connection and or did you try to mark a zillion messages as "not spam"? If so, the connection to the IMAP server could have timed out (the gmail IMAP server is picky).

Just FYI, Still has file inside Autofilter folder fild name filter #8
The content is:
Opera Preferences version 2.1
; Do not edit this file while Opera is running
; This file is stored in UTF-8 encoding
I now delete it.
