mail quick reply and search

Hi there
I have just started to use opera mail 'cause I got fed up with Thunderbird.
It works well but I have two problems

1) I can't find how to search for mails. In the Opera help guide it says:

Search for messages

To search for a message, use the search field above the Mail toolbar. This searches messages in the current view, including both the subject headers and message content. When you type a search term in this field, a gray search bar displays below the Mail toolbar, confirming the view you are searching and the search term. Matching messages display in the Mail window.

I don't have any search field above the Mail Toolbar.

2) I also cannot find the Quick Reply option on the drop down menu as explained in the help guide

To use the Quick Reply field, follow these short steps:
Type a short reply in the Quick Reply field at the bottom of the Mail window.
Click the Quick Reply button to send it.

The original message is quoted in the reply, with your reply added underneath and is sent to all recipients of the original message. Opera Mail removes text that has been quoted more than twice. For a news message, your reply is sent to the message sender's email address.

To disable Quick Reply, select “View” from the Mail toolbar, then uncheck “Show Quick Reply”.

I don't have such an option on the "view" menu

Probably there are simple answers to these questions ( I hope )

Any help is appreciated ..thanks

Unless you have changed something you're probably looking in the wrong place. Both are at top right.

Or, if you're truly not seeing those things, goto "Ctrl + F12 -> advanced -> toolbars". Make sure "Opera Standard" is set for both and then recustomize your toolbars. Also, under "shift + F12 -> skins", make sure "Opera Standard" is selected.

For future reference, there are a few mail toolbars. There's the one above a message (with a header bar as part of it), there's one above the message list and there's one at the top of the mail panel. You want the one above the message list to find the view button and search field.

Also note that the view button is a wrench. Also note that there's more than one view button. It does different things depending on what toolbar it's on.

Also, if you need the buttons you're looking for, you can goto "shift + F12 -> buttons" to find them and drag them to the toolbar you want.
