Opera 11.52 Youtube playback problems
I recently bought a new HD for my laptop and did a clean Windows 64 install on it. After I Installed Opera 11.52 I noticed Youtube was acting weird. When I load a video and I click somewhere in the middle of the timeline, the little button thing goes there for just a moment then switches back to the part in the timeline it just was before I clicked. Most videos have this problem. Other videos work for a bit. I can click on a certain part in the timeline and it dóes go there, but it pauses for a few seconds, twitches and then resumes play. But if I click somewhere even further in the timeline, it switches back, just like with the other videos. I don't have this problem in Google Chrome and IE and I'm literally on a clean install of Windows.
The video may not have preloaded entirely (I notice the video I just tried it on now works fine, a few minutes after typing this post), and that's why I can't fastforward to a part in the timeline I click on, but should this really be a problem? It should just start loading from that point on then. I also don't see a loading bar in the timeline so I can't see how far it has been pre-loaded.
I had this same version of Opera on my old HD, and there it worked fine. I'm not sure what it is. On a maybe related note: in Winamp v5.622 my enqueued tracks don't show the queue number after them (like [1], [2], [3] etc.), and I thought I may have forgotten something to install which could fix both problems. But that's really a shot in the dark..
Can anyone offer a technical explanation? I'm kind of getting fed up with this browser. I've used it since I had 56k internet (give or take 10 years) but lately more and more things stopped working like they should. This is truly ridiculous.
I am having a similar problem with youtube also. I have to tell it to start the video 2 or more times before it will play. And it always starts with an arrow in a circle for any video. Seen that on other site too. Did the cookie thing and even reset to default settings. Even went so far as to unblock everything, nothing seems to help. If it were the flash player it would have to be something unique to Opera because all other browsers seem to be working fine with the newest adobe flash.
