Wrong Time Zone

Hi all...

I'm having a problem with my time zone in Opera... it's out by about 4 hours (ahead)... I put my location to the closest there is (Toronto/America) which amuses me, because Toronto is *no where* near America to start with smile It's about 40 miles from me, and in the same time zone.

I'm wondering if others are having this problem, and if there is a fix for it that perhaps I haven't heard of smile

Thanks in advance if anyone can help...

Toronto IS in American Continent, is it not? wink

It appears some part of my.opera.com such as Shoutbox is fixed at UTC-0 aka GMT. Maybe that is what you are observing?

Mal, what I meant was "America" is also the name of the Continents (More accurately North American Continent for you). So America/Toronto means American Continents/ City of Toronto, not USA/ Toronto.

So what's your time zone supposed to be and what wrong time zone are you actually getting?

lol Yes. That'd make a huge difference, I should imagine. (Don't really know myself, though. I'm a tea drinker bigsmile) Anyway, glad to hear you've sorted it out yourself. up

I used to get lectured every time I crossed the border and said I was an American citizen ... but as a dual citizen (Canada and US) can't I say that? p

Toronto is in the same time zone as New York, Detroit, Washington (D.C. that is) ... even Montreal, but maybe you don't want to be associated with them. You'd have to go to Chicago or New Brunswick to be in a different time zone.
