Opera is very customisable. You can modify the interface pretty much however you wish.
Customising Forum
(While holding down the shift key) drag the back/forward buttons to the Pagebar Head toolbar (next to the Opera Menu) and create a shortcut to disable the address bar. Use shortcut F2 to open the "Go to page" dialogue.
Preferences, Shortcuts, Keyboard setup to edit the shortcuts.
I use mnemonic shortcuts:
a, b = View address bar, 6 | View address bar, 0
