Direct permalink to the latest version of Opera to make updates scriptable
We are writing a bash script to help us keep our web browsers on the latest version. In order to do this we need a permalink that will always give us the location of the latest version of the browser – Chrome and Firefox already have one. We were wondering if there was such a link that we could use for Opera? It would help us greatly and would be much appreciated!
http://www.opera.com/download/ maybe?
Lastest Opera Developer Build @ Windows 8.1 Pro X64

That's not direct, though. Try this one:
http://www.opera.com/download/get.pl?id=34152&location=321¬hanks=yes&sub=marine
Mind you, that will always download from the same location, and the location it gave me may not be that close to you. To get a different location probably closer to you, just click the button on the page LeoCG linked to, then cancel the automatic download and copy the address from the "If the download doesn't begin automatically, then click here" link.
Having a "Latest" link on the FTP site that always points to the current stable version would be the best approach, that's what a number of Linux distros do for example.
