This happens to me too, except on gmail instead of facebook. Deleting cookies does nothing, and there's nothing in edit site preferences to select or deselect mobile. I checked the url and I'm sure this is NOT the mobile version url. Gmail loads fine in other browsers. Interestingly enough when I load gmail in a quickpanel the site also loads normally (ie not mobile mode) but not when I access it in a tab. One thing I noticed (not 100% if it's relevant) is that the bug occurred immediately after adding a contact into the Opera email helper instead of gmail contacts. Opera's also been crashing a lot today. Currently reinstalling to see if that makes a difference.

Even though gmail and facebook are different sites, from the way techxero describes it it seems like the cause is the same. I'll try submitting a bug report if I can successfully recreate it.

OK I just reinstalled Opera: didn't work. Still in mobile mode. There are no settings in Gmail to toggle mobile on and off as far as I can tell. I just tried running gmail in their basic html mode, which DID work. Huh. I'm running out of ideas. I tried turning off all of the labs which didn't work. It's odd that this occurs when I run gmail in a tab but not when I run it in a panel.

Very odd indeed ... Well for the time being I reverted to Firefox .. I use portable version for both Opera n Firefox ... I move a lot and Sync functionality don't work well where I live so Portable versions are best choice on a USB thumb drive wink

Also, facebook runs fine. I also tried removing the panel completely in case there was a conflict, but no dice. The panel still runs normally when I put it back. What gives? I would rather not delete all of my personal settings if I can avoid it...

Edit: Disabling all of my extensions does nothing.
Edit2: Both http and https go to the mobile page. So no luck there.
Edit3: Gmail is the only google app affected: google voice, google calendar, and google docs run the correct page.

Opera turbo is off so it's not that either.

Edit: tried running it in private mode and got the mobile page.

Same thing was happening to me before couple of months with some local news portal. Opera (or that site) was constantly auto-switching address on loading from vecernji.hr to m.vecernji.hr
I had him in my speed dial's (no , the link was fine bigsmile )
dunno what I did to fix it whistle (remake speed dial thumb?!)

Hm... it doesn't seem like a url redirect issue, since the url doesn't change. I'll try making a speed dial link and see if that changes anything.

Edit: No it didn't work but oddly enough the little preview thumbnail on the speed dial button loads to the correct page; when I click it though I get the mobile page. Whaa??

Edit2: the problem arose quite a bit after I installed 11.52 so the installation itself didn't directly cause the error.

Thus problem remains xD

Ohh. Hmm... I am thoroughly stumped. I'm going to try a system restore now..

Have you tried running FB in a panel?

Even if that fixes it for you it won't for me as I use portable version which is independent of System xD

Yeah that's true.

Edit: as suspected, system restore did nothing.

It must be a bug in Opera itself I guess .. Hmm ... I tried everything bro trust me after 3 days I gave up n went back to Portable Firefox while I await a fix ... Thanks tho ... Lemme know if ya fix it xD

Edit : I fixed it !!!!!!! I just deleted all files in :

- C:\Users\TechXero\AppData\Loacal\Opera
- C:\Users\TechXero\AppData\Roaming\Opera

I guess it had to do with Widgets coz that's all there was in those folders xD

All is back to normal bigsmile

Using your hint I managed to narrow down the problem to a single file in roaming/opera/opera, "operaprefs.ini." I can just delete that one file and get gmail working again! No need to lose all my settings, thankfully. I'll look into that file and see if I can identify the specific commands causing problems.
