Opera M2 (Mail) - auto-configuration of account
The M2 is one of the greatest features in Opera. But I think it could be more used if when you create a new account, for yahoo, for example, the opera identifies the configurations automatically, no needing the user to configure nothing. When I say configuration I mean "servers options, authentification, ports". I see that kind of thing only for Gmail, not for others. For others I have to go in options of each webmail to find the configurations to do them to work in my M2. This is hard...The Opera Co-Founder Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner created a new community for MyOpera Users. Enjoy it!

I can say that this also works quite decently for GMX, so I guess yahoo is just not in their config list yet.
All my posts only represent my own opinions.

Auto-configuration of mail account is already implemented for major providers that offer a coherent global mail service.
The problem with Yahoo is they do not have coherent unified server settings. Server names and port settings are all different from country to country, region to region. For example, UK Yahoo instructs use of smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk at port 587, while Yahoo Australia tells you to use smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au at port 465. In short, you need to tell Yahoo! to get their acts together and offer coherent global services.
[Addendum]
The list of autoconfigured mail providers can be found in mailproviders.xml at C:\Program Files\Opera\defaults.

is it possible to edit that files and add the other server names and port settings to detect automatically?
