What are the top 3 features you want in order of priority ?
Hi ! I am starting this thread so that we get a coherent idea about what are the top features we consumers are demanding. This is not a thread meant to discuss the pros/cons or the feasibility of a particular feature that you want incorporated into Opera. Therefore please do not debate over here. Although you're welcome to post a link to the thread which discusses a particular feature you are passionate about. It will also be helpful to the Opera developers team if we mention the following facts in our post :
A.Our level of computer know-how B.Age and Sex.
This will hopefully help them understand the demographics of the forum
It will also be better if you do not post here unless you have familiarized yourself with the 'Desktop wish-list section' for a few days.
I am posting what is hopefully a 'model post' below for all to follow. Please be sure to add your own comments etc. only after you've added the information that you see in the post below.
1.Close all Tabs to Right/Left
2.RSS Feeds - ability to edit properties of an entire folder
3.Sync Addons

b) Mid-20s, male (as if we had any women in the desktop wish list
)1) Chaning some default settings to sane values (eg. tab settings defaults suck to the extreme, imho)
2) Auto tab stacking: every link opened from current page is spawned in same stack, "new page" creates tab outside of stack
3) Various "small" UI improvements (eg. middle-click having consistent "open in background tab" behaviour throughout UI)

I understand that, but this is a different kind of thread. Not meant to post anything except a list. I am sure they won't delete it if it progresses in a uniform and disciplined way.
btw Pesala, you are a long time member of the forum - What are your top 3 feature requests?

- Option to stop Pinned Tabs from collapsing or moving to the left
- Option to disable tab-stacking
- Email encryption
- One-click Backup
- Autohide toolbars and panels
- FTP Upload and Manager (Note: this was a tongue-in-cheek reply to the Opera Lite thread.)

- Full Drag and Drop Support - +1, this would be great, so I could use Google Search by Image without using Chrome.
- Opera Link - optional synchronization of *settings* files, and keyboard and mouse shortcut .ini files. This would prove extremely useful for me, as I use Opera across a network on various PCs, and I don't like to have to copy my changes to my keyboard/mouse shortcut settings to each copy of my user account after each modification. (Yes, I have different accounts on each PC, rather than a centralized Windows domain. This is because I use Windows 98, XP, and various distributions of Linux on my network, so a universal domain wouldn't be worth the trouble.)
some more minor things / bug fixes:
- on Windows, hide/show opera with a double-click on the system tray icon. Currently you must single-click, or right-click, I forget which, and select "Hide Opera". This is less convenient. I believe it works on Ubuntu currently, eliminating the need for AllTray
.- that annoying glitch with Adobe Reader, when a tab containing a .pdf is closed, it stays on-screen until the tab is re-focused.
2) Option to increase minimum tab size and scroll them like firefox (when too many tabs are open, they are VERY small, very hard to navigate - having them bigger and being able to scroll through them with mouse scrollwheel like in Firefox would be great!)
3) Drag and drop tabs between Opera windows
2. improved extensions API [I'd like to be able to use an ad-blocker that is just as powerful as Adblock Plus (one that can block Livestream advertisements)]
3. an userscript manager

1. smart card support (only reason I still use IE)
2. address completion (on some versions it automatically added www and com or something, now it goes directly to search engine - that is actually next to address bar also. so double searches and i havent found a way to turn off search form addressbar and turn on auto completion)
3. lower memory consumption and better shutdown that don't leave program hanging (ok shutdown has been improved in last couple of versions but still not excellent)
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1137392
2. Option to disable Tab Stacking
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=880132
3. Easier handling of bookmarks bar (allow creating folders without entering the Bookmarks Manager)

Open the bookmarks panel, drag and drop folders to the bookmarks bar.
Or, right-click on a bookmark folder on the bookmark menu and edit its properties — "Show on Bookmarks Bar."

Pesala, In case of Opera, your knowledge is unbeatable, but apparently you use no browser other than Opera. In Google Chrome and Firefox, you can simply right click on the bookmarks bar itself and 'create a new folder', or rightclick on a single bookmark and 'delete' or 'modify its properties'. In Opera we can't do so from the bookmarks bar and have to open the bookmarks manager everytime. I think that is what the learned Gentleman(Moorg) was alluding to!
Anyway, this thread is meant to post the top 3 items on your wishlist. Had Moorg wanted the above advice you gave him, he'd have gone elsewhere.

I just can say: Opera is perfect!
But, i have some suggestions.
1.- More customization options: extensions, skins and buttons. I really love the transparent skins, I'm still waiting for the absolute transparent skin, like a crystal.
2.- Opera has some troubles showing PDF's. When I find a web page with a PDF file, I have to save it in my hard disk and open it from there, because is impossible read a PDF file in opera. I hope this trouble will fixed soon.
3. Sometimes, accidentally I press the CLOSE bottom and all my tabs are closed without ask me if I want to close it or not!
I haven't found yet the way to configure my opera to when I press the CLOSE button it ask me if I really want to do it, like in Google Chrome or Firefox...
Generally I have no troubles with the tab stacking, I like it, but I'm agree with this suggestion: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=910311
Sorry for my English.. I'm posting from México..
Adios!

Preferences, Browsing, Confirm Exit. If you close another Window by mistake, click and hold the trash can to reopen it with all of its tabs.

1. Better touch support, "Scroll is Pan" is not sufficient.
- (important) Kinetic scrolling
- (important) bigger hitboxes for links
- (important) Appearance settings: Changing button size should also affect the Close Buttons on tabs, because they are really hard to hit using your fingers.
- use scalable graphics (SVG, for instance) in Opera Standard Skin, because scaling them up currently looks ugly
- triggering Gnome-shell's on-screen-keyboard on Linux when a text input box gains focus
2. change Site Preferences from i.e. "[Yes/No] enable JavaScript" to "[Yes/No/default] enable JavaScript"
3. ...

1.) Multi-process/instance Multi-profile and Multi-session support (creating/opening a (new) session or profile should result in another instance of Opera.exe being spawned. Right now one has to go through the laborious procedure of opening a CLI box and create junctions by hand, making it error-prone and tedious)
.2) Tab-stacking options like 'disable stacking' or using keyboard modifier. Having the option to disable tab stacking of pressing Shift or Control to activate stacking makes dragging tabs around the tab bar much more easy)
3.) Tab-loading options (one by one, fresh load on activation/click, load tabs in succession after xxx sec, greedily).
thank you for the increasing the number of windows open. I remember six was the number base on other programs open. I have bomb out, two gigs, 4 gigs, and working on eight gigs with an I6.. Use computers since tandy 1000, age pass 65. use only Opera for since Opera 4.

2. Multi-threaded / Multi-process tabs like Chrome has, and the ability to customize it or disable it (by customize it, I mean be able to set a fixed number of tabs per process, such as 5 tabs per process)
3. Add many more hidden functions from about:config to Tools -> Preferences
Also - make sure that new features can be disabled whenever adding them. This applies to anything and everything. Prime example: tab stacking. There should have been an option to disable it as soon as it got added.
edit: I know this thread is only meant to have 3 suggestions per person, but this should be a very easy implementation:
4. When starting Opera with many tabs, it causes lag and a wait period before all the tabs are loaded. Firefox has a function that allows you to set it to only load tabs when they are selected. Originally I had to set browser.sessionstore.max_concurrent_tabs in Firefox to 0, but it seems like it's built into the menu now:
