Switching User Agent ID doesn't help either. I sent them this email and got the following response.

I fired up Internet Explorer just so I could send you this email. I don't use it because it's not secure, and simply not a good browser anyway
even if it was. I use Opera as my browser. There is absolutely nothing your web site could possibly need to do that couldn't be handled by Opera
(which even has almost passed the acid2 test in it's newest version), however you chose instead to alienate me as a customer. Congratulations
on losing a sale (both the one I was considering making and any in the future).

I am a computer programmer in the Air Force. I know it's not that hard.

Fix you site to allow people who want to give you money the ability to
do so.

SrA Chris Moore

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your email. We apologize for the difficulties that you
are experiencing on our site. Currently we support AOL, Netscape
Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Firefox for PC users along
with FireFox and Netscape for Macintosh users. Unfortunately, we
temporarily do not support Safari or Microsoft Internet Explorer on
Macintosh. Our developers are aware of this issue and hope to have this
resolved soon.

If you continue to experience problems with any of the browsers that we
support, please check your browser settings to confirm that they meet
our requirements. For Mac users having difficulties using Safari, you
can download Firefox for free at www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience we have caused you. If
we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

Aaron

Obviously a form response since there is no mention of Opera and the reponse talks an awful lot about the mac considering I never mentioned it.

I've contacted them about this issue a while ago, but it is not resolved at this moment. If you'd like to make this site work now add gap.com=5 to your ua.ini file and restart Opera. Hope that helps.

Sent them another email and got this reply:

Thank you for your e-mail and taking the time to inform us of your experience while shopping online with Gap. We rely on customer feedback to monitor and improve our service. At this time, we have forwarded your remarks to our technical team for further research.

A bit more promising than my first reply.

Opera Software
It is always a trade off as We do not want to patch too many sites in browser.js and let the filesize get too big. We are still activly contacting them but they have not made any promising noises yet about Opera support. I'll keep you posted.
