Breaks existing package 'opera' conflict: opera ( )
Hello,ubuntu 11.10, amd64
software-center 5.0.2ubuntu0.1
I'm trying to install .deb package with the Software Center (which is a crap) by double clicking on the package and get this error:
Breaks existing package 'opera' conflict: opera ( )
So it cannot be installed this way.
Although I can install it with dpkg.

This has been happening for quite a while with 11.60 and using dpkg makes no difference. I also have 12.00 installed and opera-next package does not have this problem.
Onnly workaround for now is to remove older version before installing newer one. There is no difference whether to use Software center, gdebi or dpkg - problem persists.

Yeah, for me it started a while ago, and still happening with the latest 11.60 RC 1, and with a few latest opera-next builds.
I can install it with dpkg -i without problems though.
