Is there any way to disable the fullscreen keyboard in landscape mode?

Everytime I have to input text in landscape mode in Opera, the keyboard goes fullscreen. This is really annoying when I'm trying to enter something like a captcha as it's pretty much impossible when this happens. I know I can just go to portrait mode when it happens, but it's a really big inconvenience. Neither the stock Android browser nor Dolphin HD give me this problem.

Is there anyway to just disable this from happening? I'm using Swype, but the same thing happens with the the stock keyboard on my phone.

I know what you mean. I ended up swapping to a keyboard with more options and handled it there. (Ultra keyboard, all the options are great and I love the toolbar.)

I really want to stick with Swype though. They do say they will add this functionality once they release their Android 4.0 version of the keyboard, but who knows how long that's going to take.

From what I read, this problem has happened with the other browsers as well, but I'm assuming they've been fixed because I don't run into any problems with them.

I really don't want to have to choose between switching keyboards or switching browsers.

There's always portrait mode. p jk

I know it stinks. I remember having trouble with several browsers (except dolphin) which is why I just switched kybds. Truthfully I don't like swype... my keyboard has the same swipe (it calls it trace) capability but I don't use it.

Best option is to switch the keyboard. Try hackers keyboard with configurable keyboard percentage size to page size. Fit it to the size you want. It's free in the android market.
