Hardware Forum

Does the group need an Android hardware forum? Or does hardware belong in here under tech?

I just upgraded my phone and wondered what the group had to say about their devices.

Ooo what phone did you get?

Yeah, I think I envisaged hardware chat coming under "tech", so this is probably the right place for it.

HTC Sensation XE

Really happy with it. Fast, loads of memory, and it looks great.

I have some unboxing photos here: http://my.opera.com/Mickeyjoe-Irl/albums/show.dml?id=9970702

Nexus S - very happy with it. More than I thought I would be! My two previous Androids were the HTC Hero and HTC Desire HD. Can't say I coud ever go back to HTC now, unless they make another Nexus. It's pure Google for me all the way now.

If you don't mind, I'd like to keep this purely on hardware and not get into things like overlays. I know that's not easy when manufacturers force you to use their software if you want their device.

How do you like the physical feel of your phone in your hand? That was a big selling point for me with the Sensation. I looked at the Galaxy SII, but when I held it it was just to boxy and the edges felt sharp. The Sensation, with it's rounded bottom, was much more comfortable.

The Nexus S is a good size - at first it felt really small compared to the Desire HD, but I think I prefer the size. The curved screen is excellent, too. Feels really nice.
