TV or Monitor
I've been wanting to buy a larger monitor, 24"+. Actually found a very good deal on a HP 25" for $230.But what about using a tv form my monitor. Right now you can get a 32" lcd tv for $200. I've got a DVI output on my graphics card and can convert that to HDMI with a cable. My laptop has a HDMI output also.
Is there any pro's or con's on doing this.
One good thing about hdmi is that it can pipe sound too. I am using the Dell ST2220L (£127 with coupons) and I love it. One good thing of the Dell monitor is that it has an audio output right on the speakers so you don't need a long audio cable.
Also, does that monitor have a TV tuner. If not, and you want to watch Tv, you are probably better off buying a TV. Also, TV tend to have more ports like the RGB Cables and Scart that monitors does not have.
As a side note, before buying anything, especially computer equipments, try looking for coupons for that particular seller (like Dell coupons if you are buying from Dell and HP coupons for the HP store).

Unless you sit more than a meter or so away from your monitor or you've got some issues with eyesight I don't think 32" would get you any advantages other than use as a TV. The resolution isn't actually higher, after all. Also you should take a look at the contrast ratio, response time and such, but all that depends on what you want.

Here it is, a 24" touch screen Sony computer.
VAIO L Series All-in-One Touchscreen

I saw one recently and lust after it, but it won't fit in my lap.
When I left the department, it was showing D&D.

@rif, you could try returning it saying that you found it cheaper elsewhere.
