Twitter not working properly

Since a month I'm having problems with Twitter. It doesn't show everything and the links don't work. When using a private tab, it works fine (see screenshot). But I'm tired of opening always a private tab. Solution?

No such issue with Twitter here, always displays properly.

If you are using any extensions try disabling them and see if that makes a difference. I don't use any myself so I'm not sure if it would make a difference when browsing in a private tab or not.

Same problem here: using Windows 7 (64-bit) and Opera 11.60, Twitter still
* does not display the Profile pane
* does not automatically refresh
* does not offer a "more" option at the foot of the list.

Nice to know that I'm not the only one. Was hoping that 11.6 maybe fixed the issue, but no luck. Ah well, using private tab it is.

the private tab option works - at least that's a workaround and I don't need to use IE just for twitter - thanks.

Same problem here. - TWITTER DOES NOT WORK IN OPERA. HELLO???! - Probably because the programmers have 'more interesting things to do' than fixing Opera access to the most important ( read: used ) website on the Planet. ( Using Opera since 2000. )

That was a very useful and helpful post.

What version of Opera are you using (Latest stable/Beta/Alpha) ?.

What Operating system are you using (95/98/WinME/2000/XP/Vista/Win7/32Bit/64Bit) ?.

Ah ok, well that would suggest it not related to just one particular version of Opera browser then.

However after deleting all data on Opera and also running Spybot it started to work fine late last night. Haven't tried it yet on my computer this morning though.

The fix has been issued in the lastest browser.js patch, just released by the Sitepatching team: http://my.opera.com/sitepatching/blog/2012/07/17/fail-whale-update

Check and update your browser.js: http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/
Once done, reload the above page to confirm your browser.js version. If using 12.00 it should read:

Target version and time stamp of the active browser.js file is Opera Desktop 12.00 core 2.10.289, July 17, 2012. Active patches: 218 .

Desktop OS: Windows 8 x64 + 7 x64 sp1 x2 + XP sp3; Mobile OS: Android 4.0.4
Opera versions: 12.02, 12.14 & 12.16

Please tell me how to do this as I am using Opera 11.64 and I need to use this version, so please talk me through this as I have tried what it says and after clicking on help it just wants to download Opera 12.00, but I don't want Opera 12.00. there doesn't appear to be an option to download any new js on it's own.

This still doesn't help me, all it helps with is to download the latest version of Opera which I don't want.

Same issue on opera 12.0 and win8 x64. I've tried the above link solution and it doesn't fix it. I'm new on twitter but it worked fine while I had less than 20 twits of those who I follow on my wall. After that, a symbol appears meaning opera is working and trying to show me more twits but it doesn't show me anything but I'm also limited in other features as answer directly from my wall. Any solution?

Have you tried this?

Go to HELP, then check for updates, even though it will probably say there is no update just download whatever you see, then restart, and see if you still have this problem.

Also check here and report which version of the javascript file you have as it will show details when you click on this link below.

http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/

It should read as follows......

Current browser.js status: enabled.
Target version and time stamp of the active browser.js file is Opera Desktop 11.62 core 2.10.229, July 17, 2012. Active patches: 231 .

I think your issue is with Opera 12.00 as 11.64 is working fine.

Somehow fixed. I didn't do anything besides what was already done, and now it works properly. It seems to me that it was an "https://twitter.com" issue.

Thanks though

No, it was Opera that broke twitter on how it behaved with javascript.

I still think that Twitter behaves oddly though, especially when you try and reply to a tweet on your time-line the box can often stall with the typed words.

Opera 12.02 build 1578 just does not work correctly when typing messages on Twitter.

It takes ages for the window to paint the message and be ready to tweet the message.

I have no such problem with Twitter here.

I wonder if your problem could be in your sig.

It would seem something has been fixed, as my Twitter appears to be working correctly with no hangups on message windows etc.

I think the fix may well have been the latest javascript update, perhaps someone from Opera could confirm.

Current browser.js status: enabled.
Target version and time stamp of the active browser.js file is Opera Desktop 12.01 core 2.10.289, October 8, 2012. Active patches: 262 .

I know prior to this fix that people had said it already worked with no issues for them, but I didn't think that was the case for all systems, especially mine at the time.

Twitter on Desktop.

Just noticed that on Twitter using Opera 12.02 even when there is a new tweet to view, if I click on HOME nothing happens, I now have to click on where it says NEW TWEET or TWEETS, is this to do with the latest Opera Desktop 12.01 core 2.10.289, October 31, 2012. Active patches: 292 . ?

Or is it that the HOME button is only programmed to work if we are on another tab?

Another little thing I have noticed, and that is the buffer circle in between the ME and the search bar, I could swear that hasn't always shown when moving from tabs.

Re my last post, I have just checked on Firefox 3.6.28, and the home page works perfectly, so it must be an issue with Opera and the latest JavaScript I think, hope the next J.S Browser update fixes this.
