No spellchecker?
mm... I installed Opera for OpenSuse, but I couldn't add any dictionary because the spell-check list is empty. How do I restore it or create one, please?Mind, I tried both OpenSuse distro package and a direct download from Opera.com, without luck.

The latest. I managed to solve it. I tell here how, in case it is useful for some other user:
1. Get to any computer with Windows and type opera:about
2. Surf to the "Opera directory" folder
3. Copy the folder "dictionaries"
4. Go to your Linux install and paste the "dictionaries" folder into /home/YOUR-USER/.opera
5. Restart Opera.

I have Opera installed on multiple Linux computers (different distros too), and the spellchecker works just fine, using the English (US) dictionary. I did not need to manually copy any files or add additional dictionaries.
I do have the hunspell package(s) installed on all machines, if that makes any difference.

Opera has a custom version of hunspell integrated, it doesn't need hunspell installed on your system. You can download or remove dictionaries by right-clicking in a text field and clicking Dictionaries -> Add/remove dictionaries.
I know, the point is that in my installation I didn't find any list of dictionaries to add. Hence, this post in the forum.

Sounds like a bug or fluke, since on two different openSUSE computers (11.4 and 12.1), spell check works, and I can add any dictionary. On the 11.4 machine, Opera is installed via the openSUSE non-Oss repository, and on the 12.1 machine, Opera is installed via the .rpm package hosted on their web site.
Interesting workaround. The same can also be done with another Linux computer and copying the dictionaries folder from ~/.opera/.
Not sure how to reproduce the problem.
