Why is Opera trashing my bookmarks?
I have been using opera for many years; I am running Opera 11.52 at the moment and having problemsWhen I import bookmarks they seem to duplicate the folders again so I thought I would try Opera link as I have another computer
Now I am in real trouble as the other computer (running windows 7 ) does not allow the bookmarks to save down - worse still when I try link on the original computer it loses most of the folders and dumps everything in about 6 list just jumbled up
What a mess! can anyone help?
Can I wipe all the bookmarks out and load an old copy?
Pete

The bookmarks.adr file should be compatible across all modern versions, and you should be able to copy it over top of the current file (though, just in case, you may want to first backup the current one somewhere safe - but not to the same subfolder where an old bookmarks file is stored). Just be sure to have Opera turned off when you copy a bookmarks file into Opera's user folders or Opera will re-overwrite a just-copied-in file with "current" bookmarks stuff from RAM....Can I wipe all the bookmarks out and load an old copy?
Opera 12.14u (1738), 11.52 (1100) & 10.63 (3576) running on various Windows systems from Win7-64 down through KernelEx4-modified Win98FE (proof that reports of Win98's demise are greatly exaggerated).
