Opera Email Client not fetching attechment file names.

Hi ,
When using Opera's e-mail client, the file names of any attachments do not show up.
If I click on the message it downloads the Whole attachment ! (which is not what I want, I want only the file names)
Later , in Account->preferences->incoming i set : Do not make my messages available off line
+ Do not Fetch Attachments.
However, still when I click messages, the bottom status bar says (fetching messages 0/3) (BTW i don't get why 3 and not 1 , i only click one message ...)
Apparently only part of the message is being downloaded now and I get many messages which say "The message is incomplete but can be fetched".
Again, if I click Fetch Complete message, The whole message is downloaded including attachments (but I only want the file-names of the attachments!)
Also, Is there any way to see which messages has opera fetched and which it hasn't?
Can any one explain the above (weird) behavior?
Thank You,
E

using windows 7 , 64,
Opera 11.52
Gmail , IMAP

They show up fine for me with Gmail IMAP with the default settings (which means "low bandwidth mode off, "make messages available offline when I click them" set and "do not fetch attachments" unchecked).

With "Do not fetch attachments", the filenames won't show till the attachments are fetched. That's intended behavior.

Do you also use low-bandwidth mode?

For me, Opera only does that with Gmail IMAP. With my other IMAP servers, it'll just have a generic "fetching messages". I've never checked why Gmail IMAP shows that. But, it's probably because Gmail IMAP has multiple copies of each message and when you fetch for one copy, it fetches it for the others. See <http://operawiki.info/GmailIMAP> for more info.

Just note that Gmail's IMAP server isn't a normal IMAP server. It's does whole bunch of things different compared to normal IMAP servers. It's very complicated.

You can of course log it to see for sure what Opera's doing.
