Posting a file

I did a search to see if I could find an answer, but I was unsuccessful. I am sure this must have been asked before. I just started my blog and I am having difficulty posting a file for download. I don't seem to have a problem uploading the file into a directory, but when I try to post it then I see that I don't have any files in my archive. I uploaded it and it looks like it is there to me so I am confused. Can anyone help out the new guy here?

Upload images to Your File Storage.

Not all file types are allowed, e.g. no exe or rar files.
