Hover effects

Did any1 found workaround for hover effects that is described here (scroll down to Hover effects title)

Opera will apply its own hover effect, which adds a lighter grey with a touch of blue. This native effect can’t be adjusted.

using the formula MIN(color + (100 * colorfactor) / 255) with the RGB values of 60, 60, 140.

Now.. I need to change that colorfactor somehow. Icons in my skin are white and Opera hover effect makes them more whiter - basically nothing, max is 255. I would like to make them bluish on hover. Is there any hack or something that will change those colorfactor into negative values??

edit: I really dont wanna change (and double) all damn icons for that smurf

Is it the skin linked in your signature?

I get nothing here, no blown-out white. But I think my system doesn't seem to render the skin elements properly, since I'm not getting the usual glow that should appear over the arrows, home and reload icons and the icons on context menus look kind of blurry.

Should the skin look like this? http://i.imgur.com/8ZUkU.png
Because that's what I'm getting here (Win7 64)

Also, no need to bump while still on the front page.

because all icons are white, and that hover effect can't be seen. That's why I wanna change it to blue (hover effect).

I think I misunderstood when you said "hover effect makes them more whiter - basically nothing", anyway, like I said in the other thread, it's hardcoded.

Looking into it, if you wanted to "disable" the glow, seems like you could replace any xxxx_hover.png with a transparent image or a "blend = 0".

Now, since you want to have the glow effect on, but seems like Opera can't apply it over white objects (this could be considered a bug) and you don't want to change the icon color or opacity, you could try this:

Change the addressbar_hover.png to something more appealing and try other blend values.

[Addressbar Button Skin.hover]
Clone               = Addressbar Button Skin
Tile Center         = buttons/addressbar_hover.png
Blend               = 50
