Cross-Hatch Lines on Page - Links are dead

Using Opera 11.52, within the last 2 weeks pages I bring up have cross-hatched line, as if I'm looking at a cut-and-paste version of a web page. Areas within the cross-hatched lines appear blue when the mouse cursor "enters" them. Also, none of the links on these pages work. Its not all pages, but certainly enough, and it isn't just certain pages. It seems to happen to any page randomly.

I've been using 11.52 since it first came without problem until now, out so I thought some Opera file was corrupted. However, I've tried re-installing with a freshly downloaded install file and the same problem still occurs.

Any thoughts??

John
