overzealous text selection
The text selection has recently been revised and the new changes are making it quite frustrating for me to open small links into new tabs by long pressing them and selecting "open in new tab".~Half the time it seems to just select/highlight the text of the link instead of showing the long press menu with the link outlined and ready. On top of that, unselecting the text to then be able to try again is also quite is quite laborious.
Anyone else having that problem?
If not, try going to reddit.com to open the imgur links in new tabs maybe you'll see what I mean.
thanks
Yes I know what you mean. Long pressing a link yields 'text selection' menu instead of 'new tab' menu. Sometimes it happens to me too.
Maybe the clickable link area is too small and OM misdetecting its borders or something like that? Not sure.
For what it's worth, zoom in the link before long pressing it.

Also while long pressing on a link to open the menu, the screen won't stay still. It scrolls or more like creeps up and down making it hard to stay on the link long enough. Usually it enters the text select mode instead which indeed seems to persist overzealously. This didn't happen with 6.1. It started after I updated to 6.5. At least this is true with S60 v5 Nokia. First time ever I wish I hadn't updated my Mini installation.
