Why are you pressing Ctrl if you don't want to open another tab in the background?

Just use left click — that will open in the same tab with the default tab preferences.

why i`m using ctrl? well i`m traying to close a tab ctrl+w and same time i must press something with click ...and when i do that ...u know what happen..

very strange combo you doing, you think you are playing Mortal Combat?

try used to release ctrl button after closing tab

or make your movements step-by-step.

I have this same problem too, I use ctrl + tab to cycle through tabs quickly while I am click which causes more tabs to open. I want to disable this action, how do you do that?

Ctrl + click is not customisable.
