buttons die inside cross hatches

Suddenly, in the newest Opera version after I fill in details for an order almost anywhere on the web and try to click "ORDER" or "CONTINUE" or click on other similar buttons, a bizarre thing happens. I get two sets of parallel lines, like a cross, that run from top to bottom and edge to edge and encase the button, and nothing else happens. Nothing. I click and click, but I can't order anything! And elsewhere on many websites clicking on a simple, routine button (like "NEXT")does the same thing. Opera just sits there, it's stuck. It won't move to the next screen.

I reloaded version 11.01, but the now same problem reoccurs over and over!

Firefox and I.E. work perfectly. I've checked everything on my computer that I can possibly check, and can find nothing amiss. Nothing was changed or added prior to this bizarre double-cross except for an upgrade of Acronis backup software--and I didn't notice it happening until a couple of weeks after that.

I'm hardly a stranger to computers but I'm stopped cold by this. (Running Windows 7 Ultimate).

Hmm, I seem to be having trouble thanking you. Hope this gets posted. You are right! I never thought of Dragonfly because I don't use it. Somehow those keys got pressed.

Thank you!
