old skins with and without problems with the current Opera skin

I experimented some older skins to see if they can be used without bug in layout. Some older skins (for example... 8.5 one), supports very well the nre m2 layout and the star menu. While other skins had some problem, mainly with the new m2 skin, and I've seen a skin where the extension bar disappears.

What I would like to know is how a older skin can support the new Opera graphics? What kind of configuration?

Skins can be designed to fall back to the standard skin, so that if something is missing in their skin they will get it from the current default skin ... which may not match the overall design on the old skin of course, but at least it will be showing you something. bigeyes
